Suncity School-37D celebrated its annual function, Verve 4.0, on December 19th and 20th 2024, showcasing the musical production, “Hamara Bargad: Nurturing Growth, Strengthening Bonds,” inspired by the African philosophy of Ubuntu. The event featured students of Grades III-IX and XI, graced by the esteemed Chief Guest Ms. Smita Vats, Founder Director of ITIHAAS, Guest of Honour, Ms. Rupa Chakravarty, Director- Suncity Schools, management members Mr. Rohit Dalal, Ms. Nandini Singh, and Ms. Varsha Jhorar, alongside Principal Ms. Jayshree Patel.
The festivities began with the ceremonial lamp lighting and Ganesh Vandana. Ms. Nandini Singh warmly welcomed the audience, emphasizing the importance of sanskaars and encouraging students to aim high while staying rooted. Echoing this spirit, Ms. Rupa Chakravarty highlighted samati, saarthi, sansaaram—stressing discipline, resilience, and fostering independence to prepare children for real-world challenges.
Following which the Principal, Ms. Jayshree Patel, presented the Annual Report, highlighting the school’s accomplishments in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities over the year.
The cultural segment captivated the audience with standout performances like Taraana, a Kathak masterpiece, and the musical theatre production Hamara Bargad. The play depicted children’s efforts to save their banyan tree, symbolizing harmony between tradition and progress. Powerful dances like the Dance of Disaster and Dance of Sadness conveyed the impact of climate change, while the Gandhi and Afro Dances inspired action. The Victory Dance celebrated success, culminating in a vibrant folk choir and a grand curtain call.
In her address, Ms. Smita Vats lauded the meticulous attention to detail in the production, likening the students' efforts to professional artistry.
After the vote of thanks, the school anthem and the National Anthem echoed through the hall, leaving the audience inspired by the spirit of Ubuntu.
