Taking care of our environment and water bodies in particular is the pressing need of the hour. To impress the same upon our young minds, an ‘Ocean pollution activity’ was conducted in grade Pre Nursery which enabled the children to see pollution and its harmful effects on our water bodies, marine plants and animal life. The children simulated an oil spill and dumping of garbage such as wrappers, polybags etc. in a tub of water. It gave them an opportunity to get up close and personal with the tremendous damage being caused to our precious resources. The activity integrated perfectly with the SDG 14- 'Life below water'. The children enthusiastically also shared their inputs on the steps they could take to reduce water pollution.
