The cold foggy morning did not deter the young Suncitizens from participating in the day’s events.
The day commenced with chanting of ‘Saraswati Vandana’ seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati , the goddess of knowledge and wisdom on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami. The significance of the day, association with the colour yellow, signalling the beginning of the spring season was explained to the students.
"I like the religion that teaches religion, equality and fraternity.” - Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
The 74th Republic Day was celebrated with great pride & Reverence. Understanding the significance of Republic Day, learning of the contribution made by Dr. B.R.Ambedkar, reading of the Preamble were the highlights of the assembly. Paying tribute to our motherland, our National flag was unfurled by the proud Junior School Captains of Grade V Alokik Kapoor & Akshita Swarnkar with our National Anthem resonating and echoing all around the school.
“Pen is Mightier than sword” – with this in mind, Suncity School 37D organized a Pen License ceremony for our Grade 5 students. The excitement of writing OFFICIALLY with a pen was the main focus of this event. The eager students of Grade 5 went shopping with their parents to choose the RIGHT pen to WRITE and COMMENCE their long association with the Mighty PEN. The whole event was hosted by students of Grade IVA. The event saw each and every student of Grade V being awarded a PEN LICENCE certificate and a pen. Amidst excitement, laughs and tears (yes…. you heard it right…. there were some emotional students) the Pen Licence ceremony was no less than being graduated into the Big League.
