"Travel is the best teacher; it opens minds and hearts to the wonders of the world."
Our Grade VI students embarked on an enriching 3-day educational adventure to Ranthambore from September 28-30, 2024, as part of the India Discovery Program. This excursion emphasized wildlife conservation, responsible tourism, and sustainable development. Students experienced a thrilling Jungle Safari, spotting the majestic tigers of Ranthambore, explored the historic Ranthambore Fort, initiated a cleanliness drive, and took part in a hands-on block printing workshop at the Dastkar NGO.
Education Through Monuments (ETM) was a key focus during the trip to Ranthambore Fort, where students explored India's heritage through the fort's architecture and history. Interactive interviews and discussions deepened their understanding of how monuments serve as living classrooms. The experience emphasized the importance of preserving cultural landmarks and their role in shaping our collective identity.
Subject integration during the educational trip to Ranthambore Fort fostered a multidisciplinary approach, enriching the students' learning experience. Through history, students explored the fort's architecture and its role in India's past battles. The objective of science was to study the conservation strategies in Ranthambore National Park, linking to global sustainability goals. Additionally, mathematics was applied to organize and analyze data collected on the local wildlife population, helping students develop problem-solving skills in real-world contexts
The journey also included educational highlights such as "Theatre Under the Sky", wildlife documentaries, and interactive sessions with naturalists. In addition to these experiences, the trip fostered social-emotional learning, helping students develop empathy, collaboration, and responsibility through teamwork and reflection. The trip culminated in a special closing ceremony, where students received certificates and badges recognizing their active participation in this memorable learning experience.
