Colloquium 1.0 – Where Young Minds Became the Voice of the World

Colloquium 1.0 – Where Young Minds Became the Voice of the World
Let us never negotiate out of fear, but let us never fear to negotiate.
— John F. Kennedy

Colloquium 1.0 unfurled with a grand inaugural ceremony that set a benchmark for Suncity School 37-D’s flagship diplomatic venture. The mellifluous chanting of shlokas and an enrapturing classical ‘Nritya’ performance, the dignified lighting of the ceremonial lamp, and the gathering of eminent guests created an air of reverence and pride. This was more than an opening — it was a declaration that here, by students and for students, weighty issues of the real world would be debated with the seriousness of a United Nations chamber.

Co-Founder Ms. Nandini Singh reminded delegates that this platform was theirs to own — a crucible where their voices held the power to shape narratives and solutions. She commended Ranvir Srivastava and Yashvardhan Singh the student founders of this initiative and celebrated the relevance of student-led initiatives stating that this event was ‘For the students, Of the students and By the students’ – a complete democratic format.

The Chief Guest, Major General Yashpal Singh Mor, infused the hall with courage, urging delegates to stay informed, speak with clarity, and act with moral purpose.

Director Ms. Guneet Ohri underscored conviction — that when students are trusted to lead, they create with vision, precision, and passion. She commended the dedication and hard work of the entire cohort- The Core Secretariat, The Secretariat and the Organising Committee members.

The Principal Ms. Jayshree Patel urged delegates to negotiate rather than merely argue, to pair emotion with solid facts, gather allies, and remain mindful of the UN Charter while pursuing practical, lasting solutions.

Two days of intense debate followed — from the ethics of warfare to the urgency of environmental action, from migration challenges to the future of technology — each tackled with maturity and fervour.

The closing ceremony rose to match the grandeur of its opening. The day featured a grand felicitation and marked the end of deliberations, where the Core Secretariat, Secretariat, and award-winning delegates were celebrated for their dedication and achievements. From its majestic dawn to its triumphant close, Colloquium 1.0 proved that when youth lead, they command not just a room — but the world’s attention.
